Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the web including her self launched single Bound. In 2015she sung on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track "Sweat It Out" on 21st July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time would like to see her work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. The day after Christmas, she revealed that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she recorded together with Cozz in The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 21, 2016, she debuted her first EP called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his single Change in the year 2017 and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to be a guest in two songs featuring her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The album's first single, Whipped Cream From the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. She appeared with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song as a solo single for her debut album. The track was supported by the release of a music video in February 20, 2019, and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in just a week. In December 2018, she performed as part of From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
